New England Christian Writers Retreat

June 17, 2016 @ 9:00 am - June 19, 2016 @ 12:00 pm

$325 – $350
Are you excited to learn and fellowship with other Christian writers?
We sure are. We are looking forward to another wonderful weekend of writing, fellowship, relaxing, and growing closer to God when the New England Christian Writers Retreat meets on the beautiful South Hamilton, MA, campus of Gordon-Conwell Seminary (free Wi-Fi on campus). Won’t you join us? View the schedule and more information at www.NewEnglandChristianWritersRetreat.com.

What do you get with your registration?
All retreat activities from Friday, June 17, through Sunday, June 19, on Gordon-Conwell’s South Hamilton campus, including workshops, plenary sessions, lunch and dinner on Friday and Saturday, and snack sessions (you are on your own for breakfast). Plus, you’ll have your own dedicated writing desk on campus available from 9 am to 11 pm Friday and Saturday and in the morning on Sunday. Write the whole weekend if you want, or choose to attend any of our 12 workshops and five plenaries, where our outstanding faculty will share their expertise to equip and encourage you on your writing journey.

For the schedule and more information, visit our website at NewEnglandChristianWritersRetreat.com.

Hey, where am I sleeping?

This year, attendees are on their own for overnight accommodations as there aren’t any available on campus. We have reserved a limited block of rooms at SpringHill Suites* in Peabody, about 20 minutes from campus, for $139 a night (this rate is good through April 17, 2016). The suites can accommodate multiple people, so join with roommates to reduce the cost. The SpringHill Suites is a Marriott hotel and is smoke free. High-speed Internet and hot breakfast are complimentary. We WILL NOT be able to provide transportation from the hotel to Gordon-Conwell, so make sure you or one of your roommates has a vehicle. The group rate of $139 also is available on Thursday, June 16, if you wish to come in the night before the retreat starts (but remember, to guarantee this rate, you must book by April 17).
*Attendees are not required to stay at this hotel — you may make accommodations wherever you wish.

$325 March 1- April 30, 2016
$350 after May 1, 2016 (if space is available)

What can you expect at the retreat?
• BOOK LAUNCH — We will be celebrating books published by our attendees since October 2014 with a special event at our opening plenary session. More details will be coming, but if you are interested in being one of our featured authors for this event, contact LaurenYarger@hotmail.com.
• SPECIAL ROUND TABLE Interest Groups — Our first morning at the retreat will offer a number of group sessions on different topics like last year’s session on Publishing for the Secular Market. Do you have a topic you’d like to suggest? Would you be interested in facilitating one of the Round Tables? Email LaurenYarger@hotmail.com. More details to come.
• CRITIQUE SESSIONS — A chance to get some feedback on some pages of your writing. These sessions will be housed in the Special Round Table Interest Groups. More details to come.

I’m coming! Tell me more!

• We will have our popular BOOK TABLE, where attendees may sell their books or other products. The New England Christian Writers Retreat charges a 15% on all sales to cover handing and processing charges. All books and products must be approved in advance. Sellers are responsible for collecting and paying any applicable sales or income tax and that amount must be reflected in the sales price. For more information and to secure a space at the Book Table, contact Lucinda Secrest McDowell at encouragingwords@snet.net.
• As always, we are looking for VOLUNTEERS to help keep things running smoothly. Would you be interested in serving on any of these teams? If so, contact Lucinda Secrest McDowell at encouragingwords@snet.net.
Hospitality — Helping with check-in, handing out goodie bags (and maybe even stuffing them), and helping folks find their personal writing desk space.
Worship/Technical — Can you help during our worship times?
Prayer — Help at dedicated prayer times in the chapel and partner with those who need prayer.
Book Table — Staff the table at assigned times.
