Local Ministry Event: Tabernacle Baptist Church Women’s Conference

$25The Women’s Ministry of the Tabernacle Baptist Congregation would like to cordially invite the women of your church to our annual Women’s Conference. Our guest speaker will be Rev. Gloria E. White-Hammond, M.D. Dr. White-Hammond is a pastor, humanitarian activist, and a physician. Her community service work is very extensive, spanning over three decades and two continents. In 1994 she founded the church-based initiative, “Do the Write Thing” for high-risk adolescents. In 2002 she co-founded “My Sister’s Keeper,” a women-led humanitarian and human rights organization which champions social justice for women and girls in the United States and around the world.
Dr. White-Hammond is a graduate of Boston University (BA, 1972), Tufts University School of Medicine (MD, 1976), and Harvard Divinity School (MDiv, 1997). She is a member of the boards of the Harvard Alumni Association, Tufts University, and United to End Genocide. She is also the Swartz Resident Prctivtioner in Ministry Studies and Harvard Divinity School.
The theme of the conference for this year is “A Life of Worship Demands Nonconformity to the Present World,” taken from Romans 12:1-2.
We trust that the women in your church will be thrilled to come and renew their minds as they commit themselves to a lifetime of worship. Our guest speaker, Dr. Gloria White-Hammond, will outline the steps leading to our separation from the world and our dedication to the service of the Lord.
The schedule is as follows:
Friday, September 23rd: 7 – 9 PM
Saturday, September 24th: 8 AM – 3 PM
Sunday, September 25th: 6 PM – 8 PM
Since food and drink will be provided, we are requesting a small contribution of $25 to help defray the cost.
